Who is Reforge Learning for?
📌 In this article: who gets the most out of Reforge, how it fits different roles and career stages, and who might be better served elsewhere.
The short version
Reforge is built for working professionals in tech who want to build deeper skills in product, growth, marketing, engineering, and AI and who plan to apply what they learn on the job.
Reforge is a great fit if you…
- Work in product, growth, marketing, engineering, or AI or in a role that works closely with those teams.
- Want practical, applicable content. You'd rather leave with a framework, template, or plan for your own work than a theoretical overview.
- Prefer depth over breadth. You want to understand the "why" behind a strategy, not just the checklist.
- Learn best by doing. You have a real project, goal, or challenge to apply new ideas to.
- Value learning from practitioners. You want content from people who have done the work at high-growth companies.
- Want a community of peers facing similar challenges. The Member Slack is available to paid annual members.

Who Reforge is built for, by experience level
Reforge courses are designed around recommended experience levels, and most fit one of four levels:
- Foundations courses build core skills and are a good starting point if you're newer to a discipline.
- Mastering courses go deeper on one skill, lever, or business model.
- Strategy courses focus on strategic decision-making for senior practitioners and leaders.
- Leadership courses support people who lead teams and organizations.
No course is a prerequisite for any other. See Understanding Course Tiers for more detail.
Reforge may not be the right fit if you…
We want you to get real value from your membership, so it's worth being upfront about when Reforge may not be the best choice.
- Need an accredited credential or degree. Reforge provides certificates of completion, but they are not accredited certifications. Reforge focuses on results over credentials.
- Are looking for a bootcamp or job placement. Reforge is designed for people already working in these fields. It doesn't offer job placement, career services, or a structured path for changing careers from scratch.
- Want a quick overview. Reforge content goes deep. If you're looking for a short introduction to a topic, you may find it more detailed than you need.
- Aren't able to apply what you learn. Reforge delivers the most value when you can use the material on real work. If you don't currently have projects to apply it to, you may get less out of it.
- Want to purchase a single course. Access to courses is through a membership, so single-course purchases aren't available.
- Are looking for one-on-one coaching or mentoring. Reforge is a self-directed learning platform with community support, and doesn't include individual coaching.
- Work in a field outside product, growth, marketing, engineering, or AI. The content is built around these disciplines and may not map well to other functions.
